The proof of the pudding is in the eating – my basic principle of playing. I love trying out different tactics and strategies in board games, which is why I particularly appreciate high-end connoisseur and expert games whose mechanics open up many different paths to victory.
In addition to an exciting story, role-playing appeals to me because it gives me the opportunity to leave my everyday self behind and experience other social roles – whereby the focus for me is always on having fun together with friends.
I see role-playing as a work of art that is made up of more than just narrated and written words. That’s why the visual design and the overall experience, supported by handouts, maps or background music, are just as important to me as the stories.

Complex board games take me out of my everyday life and take my mind off things. When the tunnel thinking and fun with friends around the table begins, it’s always a little relaxing trip for me. But games don’t necessarily have to lead to brain nodes and option paralysis for me to like them. I also like it when they simply bring playfulness and immersion to the table.
When it comes to role-playing, I like to stay classic. Yes, I like rolling dice – but I like good plots even more. Equally important are worlds that really pick me up in terms of gameplay, good descriptive texts and stories that don’t just go on at the gaming table.
